Restaurant Onboarding Checklist for New Hires
A hiring checklist should mirror legal and operational reality. Block one: hiring paperwork, tax forms, eligibility checks where required, payroll setup, dress code acknowledgment, handbook signature, and emergency contacts. Block two: safety and harassment prevention modules with passing scores. Block three: systems access: POS login, scheduling app, communication tools, and your Knowledge Base or Codex login.
Block four is the restaurant itself: menu knowledge milestones, allergy and alcohol policy where relevant, sidework standards, and station coaching with named trainers. Block five is live service validation with observable criteria, not vibes.
Close with independence checks. Can the hire locate specs, opening tasks, and equipment notes without messaging the manager for basics.
Digital sign offs beat initials on a photocopy. You want timestamps, who certified whom, and what still needs remediation.
Restaurant Codex unifies LMS completion, Knowledge Base access including Codex Bot, and Operations tasks so onboarding audits are honest.
